In some cases, you'll see that guests don't earn on all line items on the receipt, even if there are no earning exclusions configured under Cockpit > Earning.
This behavior may or may not occur, depending on how transaction details are being sent to Punchh from the POS.
- If a brand has NO earning exclusion configured, the earnable amount is defined as the lesser value between the receipt subtotal and receipt amount.
- If a brand has any earning exclusion configured, each line item is run through the QC to determine the earnable amount.
This means that if the Receipt Subtotal / Total don't include a delivery fee or taxes, and there is no configured earning exclusion for the brand, the guest will not earn on the delivery fee amount.
If there was a QC configured for the brand to exclude Alcohol for example, but not to exclude the delivery fee, the guest would then earn on the delivery fee as well.
*Note in the below image that the subtotal/total amount don't include the delivery fee or tip, thus the guest would only earn on the receipt subtotal amount, as this brand doesn't have any earning exclusion configured.
