When guests try to use a gift card to pay for an order in the app, but the gift card's balance is less than the order total, they might receive the error "Unable to apply gift card. Check that the card number is correct and that it contains sufficient balance":
This is caused by the feature "Split Payments" being disabled in the app. When "Split Payments" is disabled in the app, the order payment can only be done by either by gift card or credit card, not both. Also, the order amount can not be split between gift card and credit card.
When "Split Payments" is enabled in the app, guests will have the option to pay for the order amount with a split combination of gift card and credit card payment.
If you'd like to enable the "Split Payments" feature in the app, and app update will be necessary. Contact your Punchh CSM (Customer Success Manager) to have this feature enabled.
