If you are not receiving test Push Notifications, please review the following troubleshooting steps:
Marketing PN Subscription
When testing Push Notifications, you will need to ensure that the guest email address you are using to test the Push Notification has 'Marketing PN Subscription' enabled.
To verify this, here are the following steps:
- Go to Guest Timeline > click on Edit Profile
- Scroll down from the Edit Profile page to see 'Marketing PN Subscription?'
If the box is not check marked for 'Marketing PN Subscription?', you will not receive all Push Notifications.
If the above option is checked and you are still not receiving a the test Push Notification, you need to check your Device settings. Check to see what details are displayed in the blue box at the top of the Timeline. You should device details (Apple/Android) listed and the message "We can send them a push notification on iOS/Android," like so:
If you see the message "we can not send them a push token since they have not provided their tokens," please double check that you have allowed notifications on your device for your app.
Testing on both iOS and Android with the same account:
If the above steps don't resolve the issue, then make sure you are only using one test account for iOS devices and a separate test account for Android devices. Using the same test account across both devices will cause issues with the push tokens being correctly recognized. If you have been using the same account across both iOS and Android devices:
- Log out then sign up with a new account
- Send a test push notification to the new account
