The error "OOPS! Due to technical issues, we cannot update your amount. It will be updated within next 24 hours or will be added back to the account used to make payment" might show up when guests are trying to purchase a virtual gift card on the app and send it directly to an email address.
Furthermore, the guest making the purchase might be charged for the virtual gift card purchase, but the intended recipient would not receive the virtual gift card. The following email might be received by the person that is making the virtual gift card purchase:
Hi [GUEST NAME],
You made a transaction of $XX.XX which did not go through as we are facing technical issues right now.
Your Gift Card balance will be updated within 24 hours else your amount will be credited to the account which was used to make the payment.
Payment ID for your reference is XXXXXXXX.
This is an issue from the brand's gift card processor's end. The gift card processor will see transaction attempts with errors of issuance not authorized.
To fix this issue, the gift card processor would need to add a new digital range to the group on their end. This means that they would have to expand the pool of available gift card numbers to ensure gift cards are issued successfully. After they make this change, virtual gift card purchases should start working again.
