Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is the additional 6-digit code that you type besides your username and password when you login to your Punchh account. This additional code is required to prevent unauthorized access to your Punchh account and enhance security.
Punchh does NOT use SMS messages or emails to deliver MFA codes. Instead, you have to install an app in your mobile device (also known as an authenticator app) to provide you with the MFA codes for your login. There are a few authenticator apps available in iOS and Android, some options are:
- Google Authenticator
- Authy
After you download an authenticator app, the app needs to be linked to your Punchh account via QR code. Punchh will present a QR code that you can scan from inside the authenticator app, and the app in turn will generate the MFA codes needed for Punchh.
If your Punchh account is asking for a MFA code, but you don't have the code and your authenticator app is not linked to Punchh yet, please contact Support (support@punchh.com). A representative can reset the MFA setting in your account. Once the MFA setting is reset on your account, you will be redirected to the MFA setup screen at the next login. You will have to scan the QR code presented by Punchh into your authenticator app in order to link your account and get a new set of MFA codes. Then, you will have to enter these new MFA codes into Punchh to complete the linking process. Once the linking process is complete, you will be able to access your Punchh account. This linking process only needs to be done once. You will be then able to login to your Punchh account by typing the MFA codes from your authenticator app.
