In some situations, you may notice that Punchh reflects a lower discount than what was actually applied to the transaction as it took place for online orders. This happens most often with checks that are only a bit higher than the minimum purchase amount on the Qualification Criteria (QC).
When this happens, you can view the transaction in the redemption log and find that there is an additional item, the discount itself, added on the to the "Please HONOR it." entry (for more information about this call, refer to "See also:" section below).
Illustrated above, the reporting is off as a result of Olo adding the discount as a Line Item for the "Please HONOR It." redemption call. Punchh has already told Olo the redemption amount in the "It can be honored." call and so the transaction processes with the already provided redemption amount. However, the inclusion of this Line Item on the "Please HONOR it." causes Punchh to think this was included prior to the redemption being applied and changes the value to a different value.
In order to resolve this, you can do either of the following:
- Contact Olo to request their help in making sure the discount Line Item does not get sent in the "Please HONOR it." call
- Add an exclusion to your Qualification Criteria that will tell it to exclude discount Line Items
