When redeeming banked currency in a Points Convert to Currency earning structure, you may run in to a situation in which you have enough currency to completely pay for a transaction but you receive an error when trying to.
If this is the case, the following setting may be the cause:
When this flag is checked, checks that have redeemed banked currency will automatically be checked in after processing. Due to this automatic checkin, Punchh will require that the minimum checkin amount be paid on the check so that a checkin is possible once the transaction is complete.
For example, consider a brand with the following setting:
In this case, a $1.0 minimum must be paid on a transaction in order for a checkin to be possible. This means that, in order to complete the transaction, the maximum amount that could be covered by banked currency is $1 less than the total of the check. Thus if a check has a $20 total, the most banked currency that could be redeemed on this transaction is $19 as this is the most that can be covered while still having enough paid by the guest to qualify for a checkin.
Note: Allow to initiate checkin after redemption code is processed (via POS)? flag is only visible to Punchh internal admins. If you believe that you are experiencing an issue related to this flag, please contact your CSM or open a ticket with support.
