When managing locations, you may have a situation where you have multiple versions of the same store set up as separate locations in Punchh. While the system will allow you to set the same store number for multiple locations, this should be avoided as it is likely to cause issues for the site.
Punchh uses store numbers as an identifier for many instances, including communicating with third parties such as POS and Online Ordering, so having multiple locations with the same store number can cause confusion and result in unexpected behavior.
If you find yourself in a situation where you would have multiple locations with the same store number in Punchh, it is recommended that you leave the store that will be active as the correct store number, then you add extra digits such as zeroes to the end of the inactive or disapproved location so that the system does not mistake this location as the location that is actively in use.
