When assessing your brand's earning settings, understanding how to consider discounts (which usually appear on checks in Punchh under Menu Item Type 'D') may be confusing. The way to think of this is by asking yourself "Do I want this to be considered when calculating earning?"
Consider the following receipt:
When this receipt is tested in a Qualification Criteria that does not include Menu Item Type D, you receive the following result:
This occurs because the system is told to ignore any line where the Menu Item Type is D, thus the amount that is discounted does not get included in the earning calculation. If the same Qualification Criteria is edited to also consider Menu Item Type D then the same transaction is tested, the following result occurs:
As highlighted at the bottom of this screenshot, the Qualification Criteria has now looked at the line with Menu Item Type D and used it in the calculation, which means that it has reduced the processed value by the discounted amount.
