In Punchh, post-check campaigns are triggered by the scan time as this is the event that CREATES the check in.
It is important to note that the active dates of the campaign enforce the receipt date but the scan time is what is used to send the notification or trigger the actual gifting.
For example, if a post-checkin campaign runs for only 1 day (December 29th) and a guest scans a receipt for items they purchased on the 29th, on the 30th, the guest will still receive the messaging or gift as the receipt falls within the active dates of the campaign, even though the scan does not.
NOTE: If the guest frequency setting is configured, this will determine how many notifications a guest can receive from that campaign. This will correspond to the number of receipts scanned.
