If a guest stages a reward for redemption and does not use the reward before the configured expiration time, an Expired Redemption activity can be seen on the guest's timeline.

Why does Expired Redemption show on the guest timeline?
The timestamp displayed on the Expired Redemption event is the time the reward was staged for redemption by the guest, not the time it expired. Meaning the guest redeemed the reward on their mobile device, but did not scan it at the POS.
To see the time of expiration, click on the redemption number located next to the Expired Redemption text to see additional details regarding the redemption activity:
