If you have recently installed or upgraded a site to Toast V3 and receive the following error when trying to enter a phone number to look up a valid loyalty account.
If you are seeing this error after the location has been working as intended, please check Settings > Locations > select location > POS > POS Type this should be set to Toast V3. Occasionally, this may be blank. At which point, this setting is being controlled by a business level setting. Please check with your CSM to ensure the proper POS_Type is selected if blank.
Sometimes this is caused by Loyalty provider data not being saved properly when the restaurant goes live, causing the POS to not know who the location's loyalty provider is. If you run into this error after a new installation of Toast V3 please reach out to integrations-support@toasttab.com.
