If you close a location, and more specifically, disable loyalty at the location in Punchh, any guests who had it as their favorite location will no longer list that favorite location in their guest profile, as the location becomes disapproved or inactive.
- For reporting and data purposes, the guest will still be associated with that hidden location, so if you need to create a segment of all guests that had the recently closed location set as their favorite, say to advertise their next closest location, this would still generate as expected.
- In addition, any tags that use the favorite location, such as {{{favorite_location}}}, in email or messaging will still show the location name, so you can send relevant notifications to users about next steps or the status of their location-specific rewards.
- If you decide to re-open a location/approve it for loyalty again, the location will re-appear in the guest profile without needing to add it, manually.
