Tag Amount is the sum of the Processed Values for all tagged receipts for the guest. Since Tag Amount depends on the Processed Value of a given receipt run through the Qualification Criteria, you must pay close attention to how it is set up and which Processing Function is used. Two common Processing Functions used with Receipt Tags are Sum of Amounts and Sum of Quantities.
The best practice is to have a test receipt so that you can test your Qualification Criteria to have the desired processed value before activating your Receipt Tag.
- If you use Sum of Quantities/Amounts and the test receipt shows a Processed Value of 12 (for quantity) or 7.34 (for dollar amount) when testing with the Qualification Criteria, then the Tag Amount for that guest (assuming this is the only tagged receipt for them) will be $12 or $7.34.
NOTE: Tag Amount will default with a $ symbol even if the Processed Value is not for a monetary amount.
