Control Groups allow you to specify a percentage of guests who will be randomly excluded from receiving an offer.
By creating a control group, you can gauge the effectiveness of your campaign. For example, did guests who received the offer spend more money, return more frequently than those that did not? Here's how to set it up:
- When setting up a campaign, on the "Whom" section (step 2), you are able to set a percentage of the users that will be in the control group. This group will not receive the offer or message of the campaign.
- For campaigns set up using a control group, such as the Recall campaign shown below, a separate engagement section is displayed, allowing you to compare campaign-targeted guests to a baseline. These sections will only be fully populated 15 days after activating and sending out the campaign.
- Note: When using a control group, ensure that your campaign is not advertised to the general public or some guests may be upset when they are excluded.
