A Guest may sometimes have an account with the same email address and for certain factors, you may want to deactivate their accounts. This issue arises when a Guest has the same email address, for example, a Guest has two accounts under firstname.lastname@example.org.
For some time their original account was already deactivated and their account email address changes to email@example.com. When you go in to deactivate their new loyalty account you're unable to because they are using the same email address, firstname.lastname@example.org. If you attempt to delete the account you'll receive the following error message, "The Guest could not be deactivated."
Make a slight adjustment to the email address/account that is currently active and then the account can be deactivated. Ex, email@example.com to firstname.lastname@example.org, save the changes and the account can be deactivated. To deactivate an account the steps below will provide a guide:
- Search for a Guest email address on the top right of the Punchh Platform:
- Click Edit Profile:
- Click Guest Functions & click Deactivate
- The Guest account will now be deactivated.
