LOYALTY INTEGRATION UPGRADE STEPS:
All checks must be closed before switching to the V3 loyalty integration (reference item 7 of the FAQ below).
In order for the clients to fully incorporate all the latest features in their existing systems and to be able to read the new QR codes, mobile app update is needed
QR codes for Non-Loyalty checks have been introduced in the latest integration V3. The Bar codes that were earlier being used were 12 characters long but the new QR codes are quite longer (around 50+ characters).Thus, the existing apps are unable to read these new QR codes which is the primary reason why Punchh needs to update the apps
App update is required for minor changes in the client’s mobile application. If the client decides to go ahead with the latest integration and if the application is managed by Punchh, then Punchh would require advanced notice before the code is upgraded into production.
Unique Toast Restaurant External IDs (GUIDs) will be required to be configured on the Punchh Dashboard.
Toast Restaurant External IDs are basically the replacement for the location keys for the locations which will have new Punchh -Toast POS integration. It will be unique for each location. The non-participating locations will still have their existing Location Keys.
These external ID’s can be updated manually as well as using location API’s if in bulk via location update API(https://developers.punchh.com/v2.0/reference#update-location). You would need to use
"external_store_id":"46ede9b5-287c-4ac5-84f4-86cb0927c96d",
parameter to update the External ID’s in the dashboard across locations.
For each new location going live, the client will have to reach out to Toast to obtain the Restaurant GUIDs. Punchh support can guide the clients on how to go about with the dashboard configurations for the same. In the future Toast plans to improve this process such that the client will be automatically emailed the GUIDs when the customer adds a Loyalty partner to a location.
Some Online Ordering partners would be required to make changes to their integration to be able to send the Order details to the restaurant’s Toast POS systems. Olo does not require any changes to their configuration. Toast will coordinate all such changes between the Online Ordering vendor and Toast.
The clients may have to tweak their marketing/training materials/banners in store. (e.g. “Scan barcode” would change to, “Scan your Code”)
