If guests are able to earn on receipts that aren't finalized, the business may want to enable a Pending Checkin Strategy for the channel (usually POS) that guests are able to earn on, without necessarily having to pay or finalize the receipt.
With the Pending Checkin Strategy, the system can check the receipt after a configured time delay (example, 60 minutes), and then apply the checkin to the updated/ finalized version of the receipt. This helps prevent unauthorized earning on receipts that may never be finalized or paid for.
NOTE: Only your customer success manager will have access to change this setting for the business. If you would like to enable this setting, please contact your Customer Success Manager.
