The Complex Segment starting point allows you to create a segment based on commonalities between the guest lists of two or more distinct segments or by using a segment to exclude guests from your overall pool.
- You can create a new segment using the operator AND and these two segments to find only guests who belong to both segments.
- If you use the operator OR you will find all the guests who belong to either segment.
For example, let's say you've got one segment called "Guests who like french fries" and another called "Guests who like queso":
Complex Segment types
- AND – Use AND as your Complex Segment type operator to find a list of guests who belong to each of your "Complex Parts" (a.k.a. the other segments you choose to use). The more Complex Parts you use with the ADD operator, the smaller your overall segment will become.
The dotted area is the group of users who will fall into the resulting complex segment. - OR – Use OR as your Complex Segment type operator to find a list of guests who belong to any of your "Complex Parts" (a.k.a. the other segments you choose to use). The more Complex Parts you use with the OR operator, the larger your overall segment will become.
The dotted area is the group of users who will fall into the resulting complex segment. - NOT INCLUDING – Use NOT INCLUDING as your Complex Segment type operator to create a list of guests based on guests included in Complex Part A minus the overlapped guests from Complex Part B. The more Complex Parts you use with the NOT INCLUDING operator, the smaller your overall segment will become.
The blue area is the group of users who will fall into the resulting complex segment.
