Toast uses alphanumeric GUID format .
This will require adding to (not replacing) the line item selectors that match appropriate redemption rules.(e.g. free pastry should result in a $0 subtotal if applicable to the loyalty reward, in this case the family group ID or various individual menu item IDs).
The Toast GUID should be added to the appropriate line item filter
Punchh accepts three different levels of a menu hierarchy (major group like “all food = GUID xxxxxxx”, item family group like “all pastries = GUID xxxxxx” or menu item ID like “pastry #1 = GUID xxxxx”).
An easy way to check (once Toast/Punchh is up and running) is to add all the pastries eligible for a Free Pastry reward to a check, earn on that check. Then check the loyalty account timeline in the Platform.
In order for Punchh to validate or invalidate redemptions, our system needs to know what to check. In the example below , we've used the Major Group IDs to identify pastries:
To add the Toast line item selectors, ensure that we are adding the same level of the hierarchy in both POS systems (it's a Punchh requirement). The transaction on the timeline shows the Toast check, the Major Group is "food". The Punchh system reads below:
