Failed POS lookup are usually a result of the barcode that printed on the check is valid but the check details were not successfully sent over to Punchh from the POS due to a drop in connectivity or an intermittent network issue.
Every time a bar code is scanned during the connectivity drop, it is counted as a "failed POS lookup".
In this example, the system logged 18 total Failed POS Lookups (see exhibit A). However; there were in fact only 7 unique failures, with many of the same bar code numbers being scanned multiple times (see exhibit B).
