ISSUE: Day 1 - If a site that was set to update doesn't have the updated BIGINT version in the heartbeats listing, the Brand should perform the following steps:
Our update process relies on the Punchh Monitor service running.
Instruct the client to restart the Punchh Monitor service on the BOH (back of house computer) if it is not running.
Ensure that the user on the client’s BOH computer has all the appropriate Windows permissions (Admin user)
Ask the client to ensure that there isn’t anything blocking the site from receiving the update such as:
Anti-Virus (i.e. LANDesk)
Any sort of Firewall rules that would be blocking communication from the client’s site to Punchh
The Punchh Proxy service might not be running, ensure that the Punchh Proxy service is running on BOH computer, and if it isn’t then have the client restart the Punchh Proxy Service.
NOTE: The update for BIG INT will occur after business hours. Time frame is from …….
If on Day 2 the site still has not been updated, the brand will need to manually update the site using the linked Brand Specific Aloha POS install package linked in the tracking Spreadsheet.
The CSM should be providing this link when they make notification to the Brand if the Brand needs to manually install the BIGINT update.
How to Manually Update the Big INT versions:
The brand/client will need to download the link to the install package specific to their brand that is provided by the CSM from the tracking spread sheet.
Extract the files in the link.
Run the file that was extracted on the BOH Computer.
Completed manual update.
How to Silent Install Big INT update (brands that use Command Center)
The latest version of PunchhAlohaSetup can be run silently.
Here's an example that shows a file named: Instpunchh.cmd.
The example assumes the file PunchhAlohaSetup.exe is copied to the stores' c:\tmp folder on Back office computer, along with the file named instpunchh.cmd.
The instpunchh.cmd can be run from CMC (Command Center - ALOHA)
c:\tmp\PunchhAlohaSetup.exe /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /VERYSILENT /LOG=c:\tmp\inst_%
You can verify results by reviewing the log file above and verify that these services are running:
